Their future lay before them ...

We put up a display of photographs from the biscuit tin in my mum and dad's sideboard - 

All of the guests looked at the photographs - 

There they were, my parents, young and beautiful, no longer wearing their heavy coats of years - 

I know where that picture was taken my dad said - 

I imagined him holding the Box Brownie in his hands -

My mum looked into the tiny lens - 

Their future lay before them, full of their enormous hopes -
