Crossing over to Vypin Island ...


Azad had taken us past the slipway to the Vypin Island ferry - we saw an oily impatient shoal of motorbikes and scooters - women in blue saris delicately picked their way between auto rickshaws - it seemed impossible that they could all be carried by the tiny ferry - 

Now, here we were, in the icy interior of an air conditioned car - the giggling driver reversed the sleek beast onto the ferry - they will turn the ferry round

Soon, we were surrounded by vehicles 
of all kinds - willowy people swarmed aboard - the ferry moved slowly across the wide channel - I wondered what Ayavedic treatments would be like -
