After the service, I held my mum's hand, helping her up the steps -

The choir had finished singing - 

The shops were opening in the High Street -

A youth unlocked the shutters of Poundland -

Then the organist started playing Beethoven's Ode to Joy - 

The noble music filled the Norman Church - 

Canon Tom shook my hand - 

Naughty he grinned - we shouldn't be telling you what we think -
