Soon enough there'd be coins in his hand to hold ...



Every summer, a leathery Charon steers Orca downstream from the Town Quay -

He ferries his cargo of cagouled visitors past Redcliffe towards the sea - 

Walking along the river bank, I've heard his hoarse patter - 

That's the Priory - there's Lady St Mary - the Vikings landed here

This morning, Charon sipped a latte inside The Granary - 

He smiled his ancient smile - 

His boat floated high upon the water - 

Soon enough there'd be coins in his hand to hold -
