They've made their camp by the side of the bypass -
I saw them this morning, a bright eyed shaggy tribe -
Three bravos were carving hares with chain saws -
They had waist length dreadlocks -
The wood was the colour of honey -
Visitors had parked their treasured Skodas -
They stood bargaining with the carvers -
Chain saws smoked -
The carvers' wives watched the passing traffic -
Dads from the caravan park imagined dancing under a solstice moon -
