Swimming into my new world ...





We walked to the sea shaded by sycamore and maple - 

I shed my clothes on the warm shingle - 

There was no need now to wear a watch - 

My heart raced at the touch of the waves - 

I was swimming into my new world - 

Tamarisk trees grew on its shores - 

Mallow and willow herb graced drowsy hedgerows - 

Blue dragonflies traced the courses of quiet streams - 

Bright grass promised joy then rest -
