There's always karma ...



We sat in the surprising sunshine outside Costas

Len had ordered a large cappuccino - 

I could swim in that he said - 

He told me about Nigel Llewleyn - 

He could make a noise like a foghorn - he'd sit in the staff room, cradling his mug of tea - 

They were old style Geographers - drawing maps of coal fields in the Ruhr - 

I pictured a kindly shambling figure, living in a gentler world - 

Marylyn mentioned newer names from school - 
 
There's always karma I said -
