A walk to the gates ...

These pavements don't help my dad says -

He clasps my arm -

He's wearing his Harris Tweed jacket -

When I think of what I did in the Navy -

When we'd docked a submarine I'd have a drink with the First Lieutenant -

They'd give me what we called the docking fee -

I'd take the bottle of whisky back to my cabin -

We walk past The Prince of Wales -

The man with cowboy hat is waiting for the doors to open -

He's ridden his bike across the gates -

Sometimes they open up early he says -
