I'm stretched out on the bed watching White House Down -
Seagulls are brawling above the rooftops -
We'd walked up from Royal Albert Drive -
A few dads had put up wind breaks on the North Sands -
Girls with tattoos played Crazy Golf -
The castle was no longer hidden by rain -
On each side of the street almost every villa was a guesthouse -
I wondered who might be staying, say, in Jadellas or in the Delmont Hotel -
What thoughts were now going through their heads, I wondered -
What stories gave meaning to their lives ? -
