Our future selves walking before us ...

This morning we bought rose hip capsules from the health food shop - 

Anne has a fear of being tree topped * - 

We both want to be lean oldsters, wild swimming at eighty - 

The shelves were filled with rare honeys, root ginger and exotic beans - 

A grave bearded man advised us about fish oils - 

A slender boy with dark curls measured out sunflower seeds - 

I squeezed bulbs of garlic -

We left with our health giving purchases - 

I saw our reflections in the windows of the charity shop - 

There we were, with our future selves, as yet barely glimpsed, walking before us -
