Walking for the newspapers ...

Before breakfast, still dizzy with dreams, I set off for Spry News -

My dad has his early morning routine of rashers and the Portsmouth Evening News -

He feels too woozy today to buy his newspapers -

I walk past the £5 car hand wash - it's just after six thirty - the sky is full of cloud -

Inside Spry News, I see that the headline of The Daily Express is Monsoon Britain

Bedhampton crossing gates are closed - I cross the railway line by way of the pedestrian bridge -

The slender Indian behind the barricade of Twix bars takes my money -

Later, I'll sit with my dad and Anne in the lounge -

Before long, my dad will ask - have you rung the taxi? many times over -
